Hey all, i need some help desperately.

Im freaking tired of being weak.

I understand why i am not the beast i want to be in the weight room,

part of it is just the way my body is built, I have legs that are not mechanically good for squatting, the tibia is short and the femur is long, i have long arms which do not really help on the bench, and have a relatively weak grip so my deadlift is not so good. On top of all that, i am flexible as crap which doesnt help the squat or bench
(when i was playing college football i weighed at 305 pounds and i could not only touch my toes, but put my palms on the ground, I still can)

But i also know that my weakness i a product of my lack of dedication and PL knowledge, but also my natural ability on the field. When i played college ball, (i was a defensive tackle) i could only benchpress maybe 400 pounds, and squat maybe 550, and I was successfully taking on double teams by offensive linemen who outweighed me by 25 pounds apiece on average and could bench 500 and squat over 600. I really didnt need to be stronger to be good, and my lifting suffered. Now Im seriously tired of watching men much smaller than me kick my ass all over the weight room. I weigh 285 pounds and i want to lift like i weigh that much.

I need some serious help guys, everything from nutrition to the proper way to train my benchpress and squat and such.

Ive made the mistake of trying nothing but maximal effort days everyday, and hit plateus that frustrated the hell outta me. What are good for speed days, and how often do i train the big lifts? How do i split the deads and squats each week? when do i work arms? How do i work traps?

In fact a full routine would probably be best.
Preferably a crazy every day a week one.

and also, how do i not just explode weight wise when i eat to gain mass? I want to try and compete at 275 one day.

thanks in advance

I'm recently going through a clean and jerk cycle and I'm not sure how to proceed further.

Last cycle my best lift was 190 for 3 singles. I recently was going through the cycle and I got to 175 for 3 triples and it was easy, so I thought I could cruise through the next sets next week. A week after that, I tried to go for 185 for 3 triples, and I got to 2 reps of 185 and I couldn't clean the third one up all the way. The second set I only got it up once, and I couldn't clean it up after that.

The cycle that I was looking at prescribes doing 190 for 2 x 2 this week, and I'm not sure how I should proceed. The actual weight isn't heavy for me, but the reps are getting a little hard to clean. So should I continue with 190 for 2 x 2 and hope for the best, or should I switch something up or back off or what? Afterwards, it prescribes to do 200 2 x 2 the week after that, but I think I might just do 200 x 2 and then x 1 and then do 205 x 1 and 210 x 1 to finish the cycle, and back off after that. What do you all think?

I'm recently going through a clean and jerk cycle and I'm not sure how to proceed further.

Last cycle my best lift was 190 for 3 singles. I recently was going through the cycle and I got to 175 for 3 triples and it was easy, so I thought I could cruise through the next sets next week. A week after that, I tried to go for 185 for 3 triples, and I got to 2 reps of 185 and I couldn't clean the third one up all the way. The second set I only got it up once, and I couldn't clean it up after that.

Hey fellow lifters, im about to turn 18. Today I hit a new PR Benchpress of 305 at 180 BW.

Now i know Benchpress and Curl and all that stuff is only a minor lift in training for a world strongman competiton, because they dont really lift many weights, its all stones and fingers and just like...ancient tests of strength.

but, anyway, my lifting partner said 305 is really good for still being 17, now i know its nothing to call the press about, but he was right, i have been lifting for 2 years, went from 140 max to 305 so...

question is, at my current rate and age, if i truely inspired to be a world strong man, anyone think i could? i dont know what age the professionals started at or what they started weight wise. but they are all huge, and have always been huge

im kinda stalking, 5'10, prolly dont have the genetics for it?

any comments or w/e is great, just food for thought

North Georgia Barbell Club (http://www.northgeorgiabarbell.com) in Kennesaw, GA, with the help of Derek Wilcox and his http://www.ironscene.com website, has revamped the gym website with daily updated videos of a wide range of lifting talent doing a variety of lifts. The club was established in 2002 and has had lifters such as Steve Goggins, Kara Bohigian, Sam Byrd, Phil Harrington, Carolann Myers, Curtis Leslie, Paul Key, Travis Mash, Matt Zweng, Scott Albano and many, many others through it’s doors. As of November 2009, the gym has expanded it’s offerings and has lifters ranging from age 13 to 73, both male and female, competing in powerlifting. NGBB also has several lifters training strongman events, odd lifts and even a few MMA athletes.

Besides new videos daily on the homepage, the site has archives of past video clips, an interesting forum with training logs of many successful powerlifters, and a relatively new and growing article section with a few powerlifting related articles as well as several lifting routines for the 3 lifts. Overall, the site is worth checking out for anyone interested in powerlifting or just interested in watching guys lift heavy weights and doing crazy feats of strength.
